Nodex is a next-generation developer-focused Scrum platform designed specifically for small teams (2-15 people) who find traditional project management tools too enterprise-heavy. The platform targets sub-200ms interactions for all operations, Git-native integration with multiple providers (Forgejo, Gitea, GitHub), and AI-powered assistance via OpenAI GPT-4o for story estimation and sprint health monitoring.
The modern architecture features an Nx monorepo with Angular 20 frontend using Signals and Vite, NestJS backend with Fastify adapter, and offline-first RxDB for local data persistence. Event-driven architecture via NATS JetStream enables real-time collaboration.
Small development teams face an impossible choice: adopt enterprise-grade tools (JIRA, Azure DevOps) with overwhelming complexity designed for 100+ person organizations, or use lightweight tools lacking essential features. Traditional tools burden 2-15 person teams with excessive configuration overhead, slow interfaces disrupting developer flow (500ms+ interactions), poor Git integration requiring context switching, and enterprise-focused features irrelevant to small team workflows.
Technical challenges include achieving sub-200ms response times, multi-provider Git integration, AI integration for estimation assistance, offline-first architecture with conflict resolution, and full observability with OpenTelemetry.
Building a modern, developer-centric Scrum platform with performance and Git integration as core differentiators. Angular 20 with Signals and Vite delivers sub-200ms interactions. NestJS with Fastify provides high-throughput API. Multi-provider Git abstraction unifies Forgejo, Gitea, and GitHub. AI layer (FastAPI + GPT-4o) assists with estimation and sprint health.
Key features include keyboard-first navigation with Cmd+K command palette, offline-first RxDB for local persistence, WebSocket real-time sync, CQRS with event sourcing, and observability via OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana, and Sentry.
Currently in active development. The platform targets sub-200ms response times for all interactions, <1.5 second issue board load for 500+ items, <15 minutes from signup to productivity, and 90%+ daily usage within the first week of team adoption. The modern architecture uses Angular 20 Signals, NestJS Fastify, NATS JetStream, and AI-powered development assistance.
